Our Mission

In obedience to Scripture, Hope for Widows and Orphans of Uganda’s mission is to serve as the hands and feet of Jesus, to provide food, clothing and medical care to at-risk elderly and orphans by partnering with churches in Uganda.

Biblical Principle

James 1:27 NIV

“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress….”

Our Objectives

PHASE I

  • Partner with Ugandan Churches to identify at-risk elderly widows and orphans in crisis due to lack of food, shelter, and/or medical interventions.

  • Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, our plans have had to be flexible. This project was initiated based on the many elderly and orphans of Uganda facing crisis encountered by our Medical Mission Team to Uganda in 2018. Unfortunately, the global pandemic delayed our plans to intervene on behalf of the countless elderly and orphans in Uganda.
  • April 2021 the outreach was able to partner with several churches in Uganda and many elderly and orphans were given food, clothing, and medical care as outlined in our newsletter.
  • We have networks with churches in 3 districts, and more than 100 Ugandan men and women serving with our outreach to meet the physical and spiritual needs of their elderly neighbors and orphans.

PHASE II

  • Currently organizing a short-term Medical Mission Team with a special focus to provide vision screenings and glasses to the underserved communities and residents of Uganda.
  • We have over 5000 eyeglasses to offer to those requiring vision correction, including eyeglass cases, and medical interventions for other vision conditions identified.
  • The team will also meet the elderly and orphans in their homes to provide spiritual support, identify crisis needs, and serve the poorest of the poor in many Ugandan villages.
