Mission Team Coming to Uganda in 2026

Coming in June 2026- a Mission team will be coming to Uganda to run mobile vision clinics

Coming soon- Sharon’s village!

We are very excited to announce that we have finalized the purchase of a 1 acre lot near Mukono, Uganda.  This land will be used to build Sharon’s Village and will be serving widows and orphans in the region for years to come.  In 2024 Pastor Jennifer found a group of 12 young children wandering the streets.  HWOU put out an emergency alert and donors quickly came forward to buy bunk beds, bedding and provisions.  They were squeezed into a small room as a temporary home.   Since then, we have been planning for a more permanent home for them.  This past year, God provided.  We obtained permission from  the regional chief to buy some land and proceed with construction of a multi-use facility.  We will have a dormitory and school for the children.  The school rooms will be available for church and community outreaches when school is not in session.  There will also be some small rooms used as emergency shelters.  We often find elderly people living alone in unsafe housing.  This facility will give them a place to stay until their home can be repaired or replaced.  There will be a home for the director.  And finally there will be a barn for some cows, goats and chickens, which the children will help care for, and will provide food for the residents as well. https://youtube.com/shorts/tTaj9ZXmt2w?feature=share Beds provided by donors for the homeless children being delivered Beds set up 3 high each shared buy 2 children The children got to pick out their own bedding Very happy with her choice! April – June 2023 Update

Hope for Widows and Orphans of Uganda continues to serve as the hands and feet of Jesus in Uganda thanks to the prayers and financial support of those obedient to James 1:27! The picture above is of Ruth, who stays with her daughter (who has a mental ) and her two grandchildren. Their house is falling apart. With the help of a ministry supporter at FBC in Columbia, MS, they are now in a safe home. Thank you for providing the $15 a month rent for this them! Praise God Another Wonderful Praise: The Church of God in Monroe, MI welcomed Hope for Widows and Orphans of Uganda as Nikki Jackson shared about what the ministry has been able to accomplish with the poorest of the poor in this country. We were invited to share more so that they could prayerfully and financially support the widows and orphans in obedience to James 1:27. Clean Water & Housing Food Health & Medication  Nurse Jane is able to obtain medications to relieve their suffering but HWOU desperately needs our Christian brothers and sisters to donate for this critical need as the Lord has blessed us with so much!!! Urgent needs include: Praying for those who will have a heart and support the widows who live in the poorest conditions in the world in pain from advancing age and disease that can be relieved by medications when our brothers and sisters provide who have been so blessed. School Supplies Thank you children from First Baptist Church in Columbia, MS who helped pack school supplies for children in Uganda! Your support is life saving! Team Meeting scheduled Aug 17

Hey team Please join us next Wednesday Aug 17 at MPCC at 11 am for an hour long meeting. We will go over updates, collect any forms and payments due, and discuss the vision clinic training. You will get your two trunks and we will go over packing info and pack toothpaste for each trunk.

Plans In Progress For Team Inititaive to Uganda

After a long delay due to Covid-SARS a team is organizing to bring vision screening and medical care to Uganda Plans In Progress for Team Initiative to Uganda. Click here for details 2018 team in Uganda After a long delay due to COVID-SARS, a team initiative is being planned for November 2022.  A team of 9-10 will leave from the US bringing medical supplies and over 5000 pairs eyeglasses to conduct vision screenings and perform welfare checks and medical exams for our sponsored families. The team has secured lodging near Jinja, Uganda and procured transportation for the team for the two weeks they will be in Uganda. We will provide more updates as our plans progress. December 2021 Short Update

Thanks to the generous support of our donors, our partner churches in Uganda were able to deliver food, mats and other needed items to over 50 people this month.
