2025 has been a very fruitful year.  Our team has expanded and grown, to reach more children and elders in need.  Here are just a few highlights.

1) Vision Clinics

In 2022, our mission team initiative successfully ran vision screening clinics and evangelism outreaches in 5 regions. The team brought vision screening equipment and thousands of prescription glasses.  We trained volunteers to continue to run vision clinics.  In the past year we have  run clinics in
  • Kisima Island
  •  Power of God church in Lugazi
  • Nakibungulya Miracle Center
  • Macedonia Community Baptist Church
  • Mpumudde Church of God
  •  Buzika Full Gospel Church

He said "I am very happy to be able to read my Bible after many years!"

2) Buvuma Island Outreach

Our teams of pastors and medical professionals have started reaching out to the people of Buvuma Island. The only way to reach the Island is by boat so services for residents are sparse. There is a large school for the children that we visited. We sponsored a “field day” with games and treats for all the kids. We will be returning to the Island in to follow up and in June 2026, our visiting mission team will bring our mobile vision clinic to help kids who need glasses to read.

3) Emergency home repair

During our monthly visits in the region we occassionally find a crisis.  We do our best to be prepared to intervene. This past year we were able to rescue two elderly residents living in very unsafe housing as well as other projects as well. We provided temporary housing and organized reconstruction.

This elderly woman was found living in this patchwork hut.  We moved her to a safe home while a new home was built for her.  Two days after she left. The hut collapsed!  She is now safe in a sturdy home.

4) Land Purchase for Sharon's village

A year ago Pastor Jennifer found 12 homeless children in her area.  HWOU sent out an alert for help from donors and we were able to quickly find a small space for them, and provided bunk beds, bedding and provisions.  In 2025, we began to plan for a permanent home for them.  Thanks to a generous donor we have been able to purchase land and procure professional plans for a multi-use facility.
The new facility will provide housing for the children and a space that can be used for a school and church and community meetings. There will also be a dedicated emergency shelter for crisis situations
